Carolina Panthers at Denver Broncos: The defending champions still have a dynamic pass rush and a suffocating secondary.  However, Cam Newton has a bitter taste in his mouth from the Super Bowl.  The reigning league MVP will welcome back his favorite target, Kelvin Benjamin.  Newton plays his game and hurts Denver’s stout defense with his arm and legs.  Trevor Siemian lacks the experience to take advantage of Carolina’s inexperienced corners.  Carolina limits Denver’s ground game and force Siemian to make plays.  Carolina 23 – Denver 13

Cincinnati Bengals at New York Jets: Todd Bowles enters his 2nd season as the Jets’ head coach.  Bowles has an excellent defensive mind and a very talented group of defenders to dominate offenses.  The Jets’ defensive line might be the best in pro football.  New York has a veteran quarterback, skilled receivers and Matt Forte brings them improved versatility at running back.  Gang Green forces Andy Dalton into mistakes and the Jets get off to a fast start.  Jets 24- Bengals 16

New York Giants at Dallas Cowboys: Dak Prescott takes over at quarterback for the injured Tony Romo.  Dallas will give the Giants a heavy does of Ezekiel Elliott and run the ball productively against New York.  Prescott has the poise and skills to hit some big plays to his talented receivers as Big Blue focuses on stopping the run.  The Cowboys are mediocre on the defensive line, but an improved secondary does a decent job against the Giants’ receivers.  Cowboys upset Big Blue.  Cowboys 27- Giants 24
